, October 12 2005 is the release date of Joomla 1.0 . Yes in one year Joomla has accomplished so much. What I like most is the security that the new API provides. Even the variables can be declared and take values through classes in order to avoid the "injections".  More compatibility with SQL since MySQL and SQLite are used through an interface so you can write some classesclasses to support other SQL types.
