The Academic Site of Velonis I. Petros

I am using VirtualBox in order to have a light version of Windows XP running simultaneously with Linux. I can't do otherwise because some applications like OPNET IT Guru Academic Edition can't run on Linux yet. As I remember after an  update in Linux (not the version of Ubuntu) the Ctrl key stopped working in Windows OS. It became very annoying because I belong to the old generation of computer users and I am used to the keyboard combinations like the Ctrl-O, Ctrl-S etc. 

 

If you are in the same position  and are looking for a solution then do this:

Choose System  on the Ubuntu menu, Preferences, Mouse and disable the choice after the Locate Pointer.

 

After that the pointer of the mouse will stop showing some circles when you press Ctrl and you will have no problem in Virtualbox's guest OS.
